WELCOME TO THE LANGLEY ACADEMY PRIMARY

Ofsted

Who are Ofsted?

As you may be aware, Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) are a Government agency responsible for inspecting and regulating services which care for children and young people. This includes inspecting schools and educational establishments for learners of all ages.

When will Ofsted inspect TLAP?

Prior to opening and as a new school, we were subject to and passed an Ofsted Pre-opening Inspection.

Now the school is in operation our inspection will be based on Ofsted’s newest framework, which was introduced in September 2015. All schools are expected to provide a standard of education for their pupils which is ‘Good’ or better. As a new and forward thinking school, it is our intention to work towards the top grade of ‘Outstanding’ and we are firmly committed and striving to meet that challenge.

In line with the inspection framework, we will receive our first Ofsted Inspection during our third year of operation; that is any time from September 2017. In the interim, to provide an external view of our progress and identify targets to improve, The Langley Academy Trust commissions external providers to review us. Additionally, a link work at the Department for Education, closely monitors our progress.

Do Ofsted listen to Parents?

Ofsted have created an online site called Parent View which gives parents the chance to tell Ofsted what they think about our school. Your views are collected and then used by Ofsted for a variety of purposes, particularly ahead of any inspections. Parent View provides school with useful information, please help us by registering your views at https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk
