Year Five and Six Highlights

In Year 5 this week children have been learning about their new topic ‘The House of Wisdom’, in Mesopotamia, Baghdad. We have been doing this by engaging with our senses to explore the setting of our class text and historical theme for this half term.

Our first full week back has seen the children in Year 6 return to their regular timetables and routines. Our new topic of Commonwealth involvement in World War 2 has definitely
sparked a lot of interest. Many children have recounted how members of their family were involved in the war. If families have any knowledge of their ancestor’s military service, it could be an interesting discussion to have with your child. We have also made full use of our new I-pads, researching our topic and improving our times tables.
