Year Five and Six Highlights

This week in Year 5, the children thoroughly enjoyed 100 object day. With the use of their devices (through the 360-world camera) the children used their chosen objects to inspire settings in writing. The children captured the object and then imported their picture into their creative writing piece. 1st of October means the start of Black history month. At TLAP we pride ourselves on having diversity spread throughout the curriculum. Check your task sheet this week to find a Black history month activity.

This week in Year 6, we enjoyed researching all sorts of interesting items from the 100 object day. Groups chose an item, ranging from West African drums, butterfly taxidermy, a religious statue and goblet from India. They posed interesting questions and then created a fact file to display in their classroom. At the end of the day, we opened the Year 6 exhibition and invited other classes to visit.
