This week in Year 3, we did lots of work hunting for equivalent lengths. Children were challenged to find their “match” by either locating the correct partner in their classes or hidden in the breakout. In English, we wrote the story map, and began making edits to write our own about Stonehenge. We also learnt about personal identity, fixing off-by-one bugs, dwellings throughout prehistory and the function of skeletons.

This week the children have begun work on improper fractions in Maths. In English, they have been looking at the features of instructional writing, including imperative verbs. In DT, they have finalised their designs, and will begin to build their Roman catapults next week. In Science, they have been exploring the water cycle and have carried out investigations about evaporation and condensation.
