Nursery and Reception Highlights

Nursery- Nursey have had a fantastic week continuing with their text Sunflower Sisters. Last week, the children participated in the Big Toddle. All children on Friday walked 1 mile and the all day children walked 2 miles! This was such a fantastic achievement! Well done to all the children and thank you to all that sponsored them, so far. We even had some lunchtime staff donate some money when they heard how far the children were walking! Everyone has been so generous and we are still to count how much we have raised because we are still waiting for some sponsor forms to be returned. On Wednesday we had ‘Windrush Day’ where we learnt how hundreds of migrants came over on a ship from the Caribbean, to help rebuild our buildings which were bombed in World War 2. The children then thought about how they would feel if they left their country and the things they would pack to take with them. They then drew these things in a suitcase, draw the London skyline and watched a clip of when Paddington Bear first came to London.

Reception- Reception have had another busy week! In Talk for Writing the children have changed their story maps. In Maths, we have been learning about odd and even numbers and next week they will be learning how to double numbers up to 5. Next week it is Sports week, the children have been practising during their P.E lessons and are very excited. We look forward to seeing you all on Friday 30th June!
