Year One and Two Highlights

On Wednesday, Year 1 enjoyed learning about the Windrush and traditional Caribbean festivals. They saw traditional carnival costumes and made their own masks to participate in their own carnival. In the Peter Pan workshop, children enjoyed using different drama elements to portray characters from the famous classic novel. They have also worked hard to design their own clay animals in art this week.

On Wednesday the children in Year 2 celebrated Windrush Day. They learnt about the reasons that people came over from the Caribbean and how the Windrush Generation were treated once they were here. They used the map skills that they have developed over the course of the year to draw and label the journey of the Empire Windrush.
