Year Five and Six Highlights

This week in Year 5, the children continued to learn about animal life cycles. Our focus this week was on the life cycle of ‘The bird of paradise’. The children then compared all life cycles. They were interested to see how many similarities we, as human, share with animals. In RE, it was great to see the children display their British values when discussing what it means to be Muslim.

This week, the children in Year 6 have finished their narrative writing unit where they have completed their own fantasy style story. A group of girls went to Eton College to compete in a football tournament where they focussed on skills such as dribbling, passing and tuning. In ICT, Year 6 got hands on with Microbits where they programmed devices to do variety of tasks such as flash different images, respond to buttons and create a step counter.
