Nursery and Reception Highlights

Nursery- We have had another very busy week in Nursery this week. We started the week with 'bring a stick to school day' which is a day to celebrate imagination. Each child brought a stick into school and we imagined what they could be. We made leaf crowns and decorated our sticks and to celebrate further we read 'Stick Man' by Julia Donaldson and talked about how stick man felt when he managed to get back to his stick family. In Talk for Writing, we have been drawing ourselves and one of our friends and talking about what the words 'same' and 'different' mean.

Reception- This week the children have been looking at their family photos and drawing their own family trees. It’s lovely for the children to share with everyone who is in their family. In Talk for Writing the children have been learning about descriptive words and similes. We went outside and looked for objects that are the same colour as objects we had chosen to use as similes. In maths the children have been learning how to represent the numerals 1, 2 and 3 using numicon and other objects.
