Year Five and Six Highlights

It’s been a great first week back in Year 5. The children began to explore the new topic of Science Fiction and our class text, ‘Robot Girl’. We explored the character of ‘Dad’ who was collecting Data from Claire (his daughter). The data he collected was a scan of her brain patterns and finger prints. We thought this was very odd, we all wondered what Dad was creating. We then collected our own ‘brain patterns’, identifying what made us unique as well as collecting our own fingerprint samples to spot differences between our class peers.

This week, Year 6 have had a busy first week back, where we have started our new topics and books. This term we are looking at Malorie Blackmans book, ‘Pig Heart Boy’. On Monday we have an exciting opportunity where the children we be able to get hands on with a lamb heart. In RE, we have started looking at Miracles and discussing different beliefs and perspectives. In Writing, we have moved on to balanced arguments where they have to write without bias.
