Nursery & Reception: Sunshine, Stories and Science
Back
We have had a great few days in Nursery this week making the most of the sunny weather. We have enjoyed watching bubbles in the sun and trying to catch them. In Talk for Writing, we have been learning the Cave Baby story map and learning our story vocabulary. World Book Day was fantastic - we enjoyed coming to school as different good and evil characters and we enjoyed books and stories as well as our first whole school assembly where we played the TLAP Masked Reader!
This week, Reception carried out an exciting experiment to explore how moon craters are formed. The children dropped different objects into flour to represent meteors hitting the moon’s surface and observed the craters that were created. We talked about how rocks from space crash into the moon and leave marks behind. The children loved making predictions and observing the different crater shapes and sizes.
