This week, we have started our last half term in Nursery. Our week has started with a new class text, Sunflower Sisters by Monika Singh Gangotra. We have planted our own sunflower each, which we will watch grow in the next few weeks. We have been making sunflowers and creating a sunflower wall in the nursery! We are busy gardening, learning all about plants and how they grow. We are also working hard to be as independent as possible, ready for September.

This week in Reception, we have started reading the story Julian is a Mermaid. We have been making predictions about what might happen next in the story and discussing why Julian says, “Uh oh” halfway through the book. The children shared some wonderful ideas and used clues from the story to support their predictions. In Maths, we have been learning about sharing. We explored different ways to share resources equally between groups and discussed what makes sharing fair. The children enjoyed using practical resources to help them understand this important concept.
