Nursery & Reception: Family Stories, Mountain Adventures and Celebrating Diversity

This week in Nursery, we have been learning more about our families. We are starting to learn the words and actions to our first story map and have enjoyed performing them with our friends. We have enjoyed playing with water and sand, exploring different ways to scoop and pour. In NELI, we have been exploring the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and have enjoyed climbing under, over and through different sensory obstacle courses.

This week in Reception, we celebrated Tabei’s birthday! To mark the occasion, the children went on an exciting mountain-climbing adventure, linking to Junko Tabei and her incredible achievements. In Talk for Writing, we began exploring our new story, The Proudest Blue. The children have enjoyed being introduced to the story and its characters. In Topic, we explored different religions and looked at some of the different types of religious headwear people may wear. We talked about the importance of showing kindness and respect towards other people, their beliefs and their traditions.
