Reception Highlights

This week in Reception we have been continuing our work on Space. We have learnt about the different planets in our solar system, their names and an interesting fact about each one and what they are made of. We then learnt about different states of matter, solids, liquids and gasses, before then doing some experiments to find out about how quickly ice melts. We have also been writing instructions for the experiments so we know how to do them. In maths we have been learning about number bonds to 5, by playing
lots of games using throwing and catching 5 objects to create our number bonds. A group of children also wrote letters and ingredient lists to make space cookies, and then collaborated with some Year 2 children to make and eat the cookies!
