Year One and Two Highlights

In PSHE, Year 1 have been exploring different careers. In English, we’ve been innovating our ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ story using Talk for Writing – the children have loved adding their own imaginative twists to this classic tale. In Phonics, everyone has been working incredibly hard, showing great progress in reading and writing. We’ve also been diving into our Maths topic on capacity, exploring it hands-on through fun, water-based activities. From filling cups to comparing containers, the children have been learning key mathematical vocabulary and concepts in a practical and playful way.

Taking advantage of the warmer weather this week, Year 2 had their PE lessons out on the field. They got to practise their throwing using a variety of methods whilst their partners tried to catch the ball. Apparently, it was quite challenging as the ball was the same colour as the grass!
