Year 1 & Year 2: Sport, Science and Celebration
Back
This week has been full of fun and learning for the children in Year 1! On Thursday, they worked in their house groups to create colourful banners and flags in preparation for the Sports Day parade. The parade took place all around the school, followed by exciting sporting activities such as football, tag rugby and dodgeball. In Maths, they began a new topic on halves and wrapped up their work on arrays.
Last week was a very busy week for Year 2. Along with visiting the Museum of English Rural Life, Cousteau class celebrated the anniversary of Jacques Cousteau’s birth. They used a map of the world to plot where he explored and looked at all the different activities he took part in including filming underwater, building a shark cage to keep divers safe and inventing the modern SCUBA diving equipment.
