Year 5 & 6: Virtual Worlds, DNA Discoveries & Sports Day Success!
Back
This week, Year 5 have continued their exciting exploration of the world of virtual reality, testing out their VR experiences and broadening their understanding of this fascinating technology. In PSHE, the children also engaged thoughtfully in discussions about healthy, unhealthy, and toxic relationships, learning how to recognise the differences and why they matter. Most impressively, despite the heat, every pupil gave their all during Sports Day, showing tremendous team spirit and proudly representing their houses. Well done, Year 5 — we are incredibly proud of all your hard work and enthusiasm!
Year 6 have had a busy and exciting week! In Science, the children explored the fascinating world of DNA, learning about its structure and even creating their own colourful models using pipe cleaners. Rehearsals for the school play are now in full swing, and we have been so impressed with the focus, energy, and teamwork they have shown as they bring their performance to life. On Thursday, Year 6 did a fantastic job running their own penalty shoot-out stall at the Summer Fair and raised a brilliant amount of money – well done to everyone involved! On Friday, Sports Day gave the children a chance not only to enjoy a range of physical activities but also to learn about Women in Sport. Each group also chose a country to support in the upcoming UEFA Women’s Euros, which added an exciting international element to the day. It’s been a fantastic week of creativity, leadership and learning across the board!
