Nursery & Reception: Early Years Learning in Action

This week in Nursery, we have been taking about the different families and communities we belong to. We have been talking about our ‘home family’ and our ‘TLAP family’ alongside the meaning of the word family. We have been practising welcoming anyone who comes into our classroom, by saying 'hello'. We have been practising counting this week, singing lots of counting songs. We have been learning how to put our coats on by ourselves.

The children have been settling beautifully into Reception during their third week. They are beginning to build new friendships, explore the classroom with growing confidence, and show wonderful creativity in their play – just like when using the Lego to design and build their own ideas. In Topic, we have been inspired by The Proudest Blue, sharing thoughtful discussions about identity and pride. We also went on a nature walk to observe the changes as summer begins to turn into autumn, sparking curiosity and rich conversations about the world around us.
