Year 1 & 2: Busy Weeks of Discovery

In Year 1’s PHSE lessons, the children have been looking at the people who help them at home and at school. The children took a walk around the school to discover all the people who work here and learnt about the different jobs they do. The children were thinking about what they could do to help other people. They recorded their ideas on their helping hands.

This week Year 2 have been busy building their skills and discovering new ideas! In Maths, we have extended our knowledge of counting in 2s and 5s and using these skills to solve fun challenges. In English, our Talk for Writing sessions introduced exciting new vocabulary. We explored powerful words to make our own writing more interesting and descriptive. Our geography lessons took us on a journey around the world as we learned about the five oceans, which we can now name and locate them on a map.
