Nursery & Reception: EYFS Celebrate a Creative Week

Nursery have had a busy final week of this half term. We have been practising counting by singing lots of different counting songs. In Talk for Writing, we have been writing stories and poems, adding characters to our character bank so that we have lots of ideas to use when we write our own stories. We have been talking about the things we need to do over half term, including lots of reading and practising getting dressed all on our own.

This week in Reception, the children have continued to show amazing creativity and enthusiasm. We have been designing our own items of clothing inspired by the work of Foday Dumbuya, thinking carefully about patterns, colours and what makes our designs special. In Maths, the children have continued to gain confidence in their counting and number recognition skills. We also enjoyed a trip to the library where the children had a chance to look at a variety of books and listen to some lovely stories being read aloud.
