Year 1 & 2: Exploring Rainbows and Reaching for the Moon!

The focus for writing this half term is instruction writing taking inspiration from our text The Rainbow Bear by Michael Morpurgo. To introduce the topic, Year 1 took part in a range of rainbow activities.

This week, Year 2 have made an exciting start to their new learning journey. We have begun exploring our new text Bob: Man on the Moon, which has inspired lots of creativity and curiosity. The children have enjoyed designing their own imaginative aliens and have started learning our accompanying text map to support their storytelling skills. As part of our wider curriculum, we also took part in 100 Objects Day. The children had the opportunity to explore a fascinating range of objects and then wrote persuasive pieces to convince their teacher to adopt their chosen favourite object, with many very convincing arguments!.
