Year 3 & 4: Exploring Science, Geography and Storytelling
Back
This week Year 3 have started their unit in Science all about the musculoskeletal system. In D&T this week we have explored the best bag for fossils, and we have spoken about the materials that we might need to make it. In Maths, we will be learning about fractions and some children have been looking at how we might half and quarter real objects like bread.
This week in Year 4, the children continued their learning about mountains and volcanos. This week they thought about the environmental and human impacts of mountains – both positives and negatives. In Science, the children refreshed their understanding of the states of matter including the scientific definition of each in relation to volume and shape. The children began creating their story maps for the new model text, Bed Monsters, with lots of fun actions and colourful drawings.
