Year 1 & 2: Inventors, Arrays and Exploring China

On Wednesday, Year 1 celebrated Shanker Bhise’ birthday. They learned about his inventions and enjoyed participating in a variety of activities like, potato and sponge printing, making paper cup telephones, weighing and balancing groceries and objects.

Year 2 have been learning how to use arrays to solve multiplication and division reasoning problems, showing great progress in using visual strategies to explain their thinking. They have also begun exploring China, gathering key facts to create a case study and learning what makes the country unique. In Science, the class created healthy-living leaflets, explaining the importance of good sleep, a balanced diet and regular exercise to help us stay well.
